'Best' unarmed combat technique?

Who would win in a professional fight?

Each person equally qualified in their own particular field, fighting one-to-one.

Between kung-fu, karate, ju-jitsu, taekwondo, wing chun, tai chi, aikido, thai kick-boxing etc etc, which would beat the others?

I know this sounds a bit like one of those "who would win in a fight between batman and the hulk" but i really am curious.

'Best' unarmed combat technique?
tai - chi most definately

but you didnt include street fighting cos if that was included then that would win cos you cant beat a kick in the knackers
Reply:Tai-Chi is the father of all these other styles.

It takes about 25 years to become a Tai-Chi master..
Reply:it actually depends on how resistant to blows the person is.

if its out side the best is boxing because while most of them are trying to get off some type of move a good boxer will have them down.
Reply:Running. It's the oldest and best combat technique.

If that doesn't then it will depends on the training and how good is the fighter. No style is better than the other; what's better or not is the person.
Reply:Thai kick boxing or ju-jitsu if your in a match fight with rules. Kick boxing is a full on attacking style. And ju-jitsu is just a great way to counter almost any martial art.

If your looking for something to help you on the street against gangs and thugs I'd say wing chung. If it's done right you will down a thug with ease and any of his friends will not want to touch you. It's all about stepping up closer to your opponent and not backing away when a punch is thrown at you. This will confuse any un-trained person. Then you have the fact that wing chung is full of very fast (minimalistic) movements.
Reply:Hi there

Its far better to think of this question without the martial arts part as it has very little to do with it.

Each situation is different and everyone is built differently. There are too many factors involved for a straight yes or no.

But most on here will say MMA because of the shows they watch. If you want a real answer about what works ask a police officer.

Best wishes

Reply:I honestly think Ninjitsu, one of the most deadliest Martial Arts in the World.
Reply:No one would win, everyone would claim they did though.
Reply:Obviously the Hulk would win, as he's Marvel's strongest character ( he beat the Silver Surfer, Superman, and Onslaught, etc.)...

Your question is a misnomer. You asked about the best technique, not a whole style. However, given with the rise of UFC, it can be said that the strongest grappling styles are Judo, wrestling, and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, while the strongest striking types are Muay Thai, Western Boxing, Kyokushinkai Karate, and kickboxing, including Sanshou. Other styles such as Aikido, kung fu, TKD, wing chun (again, kung fu), and tai chi are more for moderate physical exercise (martial sports) or aesthetics than for self-defense and street or cage fighting.
Reply:The one whose fighter was willing to give all in training and in the fights. To win in this style fight now is called MMA, it has progressed. And now due to sound wisdom the fighters blend their skills to erase holes that all arts have. Still the ancient fighting arts, just Americanized ya know the melting pot !!

And MMA fighters are and have proved their salt over and over again. I am a traditonalist but appreciate great fighters.

My art is about fighting so it is easy to appreciate it. So as MMA has proven all or none.
Reply:There is no superior martial art, only superior martial artists. But if I had to take a bet...a professional unarmed fight...that must means a limited environment like a ring or octagon. That's easy, as it's been proved time and time again...MMA.
Reply:Fights have no winners.
Reply:A "Professional fight." I guess that means they're being paid for it, and therefore it will be subject to the laws of some nation... and therefore will not be a good representation of what an actual fight would be. But, we're talking just what's are great one on one styles? I like Muay Thai and Jujitsu as one-on-one styles. Especially if we're working within the laws.
Reply:This already happened. Go watch the first 5 UFCs, where there were no rules and everyone only used one style. It turned out to be grappling, specically Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

It went JJ%26gt; Wrestling%26gt;Judo%26gt; Kickboxing%26gt; Karate%26gt; Kung-Fu%26gt; Ninjitsu%26gt; everything else
Reply:ok i have been praticing martial art since i was 4 and now i have develope my body to be come a rock and the technique are to deadly to demonstrate its call vovinam it is what elite soilders in the war use they fight to kill not to win so i think if it is killing intention vovinam will dominate over other
Reply:Well, I was in the British special forces for 22 years, and the first rule of unarmed combat is "Don't be unarmed ".The most mundane objects can be used as a weapon. I only ever fought to kill.
Reply:Best techniques: punch in nuts, kick in nuts, karate chop to the nuts, eagle claw to the nuts, poke in the nuts, knee in the nuts, elbow to the nuts, headbutt to the nuts...

Any technique from any martial art is effective as long as it is applied to the nuts (against a guy).

If fighting a girl then a tittie twister wins hands down.
