Reply:huh? Sources?

If it's hand to hand you talking about, it's already not gun fu. But most likely it's just a different way of spelling Kung Fu. After all there are other versions of such as Quong Fu, Gung Fu, Quong Fu etc. similar to Chi Kung, Chi Quong and Chi Gung. That's what happens when you try to anglisize a language not meant for english tongues.

Now from what I just read about Isidro Archibeque, I'd say he's a very accomplished practitioner of Kung Fu, since he's attributed a mastery of Iron Hand, however his "Gun Fu" is obviously based on similar styles of Shaolin and Wushu. I'm sure that observing his dao you would find a lot of similarities with traditional Chinese Martial arts. Where as the movie style of Gun Fu is purely fictional style that requires a gun and is attributed to John Woo
Reply:1st off no one starts or creates a "new" style and anyone who claims to is a liar .

To create a new style you would have to create something entirely unseen before without any reference or prior practice of existing methods.

The best you can do is adapt some technique for which you may be or not be recognized for.But this recognation comes from those outside the system not because you believe or he said so.

kung fu/gung fu one is common chinese use the other is mandarin use .Both mean and describe the same thing.
